It works for my BIG mix breed Rhodesian / Bull Mastiff / Pit (100+lbs) and my medium dog (45lbs).
The big dog would finish her meal in seconds, now it takes several minutes. She has to work for her food, but it IS healthier for her to eat slower.
The "brakes" can prevent the dog from getting to the food if their snout is wide or you get a bowl that is to small. Our dog has a big wide mouth and the Jumbo is OK, the large is good for the medium dog.....bigger is better.
Even though the bowl can slide across the floor, without the non skid bottoms the bowls would be all over.....the dogs have to work to get the food, and that's OK.
The item is well made. Color is blue in photo, we got white, which was better.
