The reservoir fits on and the fountain works great. The only problem is that my cat has decided that he likes to attack it. It is pretty easy for the bottle to be knocked off and spill everywhere. The top is also very hard to unscrew and therefore hard to refill. The bowl isn't really big enough for my dog (golden retriever) and cat to drink from it all day without being refilled (why I bought the reservoir).Get more detail about Drinkwell Reservoir, 50 Ounce.
