I have used a Drinkwell fountain for my three cats for five years. I change the filters every other week, but recently (three or four months) I have noticed an excessive amount of charcoal dust in the water from these filters. This is something that I haven't had a problem with in the past years. I rinse the new filters before use as suggested by the manufacturer, but that doesn't seem to help. I notice too that the filters are made in China; I don't know if this is a new change or not but I originally thought they were made in the U.S.

I talked to a customer service rep with Drinkwell who claims that the filters have always been made in China and have not changed. She claimed the charcoal in the water won't hurt the cats, but I won't risk it. With China's history of "toxic" products, I stopped using the filters and the water is clear again like it used to be - just aerated now. My cats don't seem to mind the difference and are actually drinking more water without the filter.

I think the 360 fountain is good, although is not totally cleanable (there are some spots that I cannot reach even with a cotton swab). I just got this LENTEK/KOOLATRON 6 DAY AUTOMATIC PET DISH a couple of days ago & it works great so far. The motor isnt loud enough to scare my cat, it holds plenty of kibbles, looks easy to clean (it was a bit hard to unassemble to put in the battery tho.) The only problems I have with it is that the dish is soooo big (it measures 14.8 x 14.5 x 4.1 inches which is way too big for my apartment kitchen), & my cat has to walk around the dish to eat her kibbles because of the cover rotation.

I bought this automatic pet dish (along with an Animal Stuff Lucy cat tree) on the recommendation of my vet who said my chubby kitty needed some exercise. After her spaying she gained a lot of weight & now looks a bit like a basketball lol. The vet said an automatic feeder was a necessity for all cats living in apartments. He told me to somehow anchor the pet dish on the top shelf of the pet tree to make my kitty climb up to her food for exercise.

Instead it kept hitting me in the knee as I rode along to the dog park. When my dog got thirsty, I then spent 5 minutes untying my knot. I grabbed the water bottle, took the top off and poured it into my dogs mouth. Messing with the tray is a joke. Honestly, once again, it doesn't work.

It's basically a water bottle. I bought this fountain last summer and it worked very well. The filter that arrived with the fountain lasted 4 weeks and worked wonderfully. When I replaced the filter, I noticed that there was black residue at the bottom of the reservoir. The new filter was bleeding into the water. If you're going to get one of the fountains, you should get stainless steel rather than plastic. I did not have to purchase any specific "cleaning kit", all you need is a typical dish scrub brush. Clean up time takes less than 15 min, even to put back together and refill. It comes with 4 different fountain tops, but all you really need is the one that has "1" dispenser. The others have 2,3,4 dispenser flows for water, which frankly if you end up using these, you'll have water splashed everywhere. Also, some cats don't like to be sprayed with water while they're drinking. Even if you lower the speed of the water flow, there is still splashing and how many pets do you know really drink simultaeously? So, we just use the 1 spout attachment. The other minor criticism is that if you have a cat who doesn't like to drink directly from the flowing water, then they resort to drinking from inside the fountain. While that is generally clean, too, from the filter, except the filter can't clean out pet hairs. Not much to say about the filters - they do what they're supposed to do, keeping the water much cleaner. I've noticed if I go any longer than 4 weeks between filters, my cats stop using the fountain and beg to use the sink again.

The only downside was that it took awhile - nearly 2 weeks for them to get here. When I got concerned that the retailer wasn't going to send them (I'd read other reviews saying that they took a long time and customer service wouldn't respond), I contacted customer service via email. I wouldn't say this bowl is "no-spill" but I would call it "splash-limiting" or "reduced-splash." Drinkwell Aqua Garden Seed Pods, 2-per Package Right now

I didn't think these things would actually work, but low and behold they grow like crazy! With just a small amount of light they produce and amazingly thick little patch of grass. As a side note, the planter these go in are not for the platinum fountain, but it still fits along the front side of the bowl. One of my cats likes the grass a lot while the other just ignores it.
