I have a multi-cat household and two of them don't drink enough water, resulting in bowel and urinary issues. A drinking fountain was recommended by my vet. I purchased another, cheaper brand. It was hard to clean and after a couple of years, it broke. So I looked at this one by a friend's recommendation and even though it is a few bucks more, so worth it. One thing I recommend is that you really do clean it and the filter every week, it really effects the strength of the flow.
