This is a vast improvement over the typical plastic water fountain. After a brief introduction all of my felines (including very senior fussy ladies) are happily drinking chilled fresh water in increased amounts over their water consumption from ceramic water bowls (I purchased the Perfect Pet Fountain which has a chiller attachment). With senior animals it is critical their daily water consumption is at optimum levels, especially for the well being of their aging kidneys.
I have received incredible customer service from the inventor of this water fountain, above and beyond what is usually found in the marketplace. Replacing the foam filter is very easy; have not yet reached the point of needing to replace the charcoal filter. Weekly cleaning of the fountain is very simple. My fountain sits on a wood plank which is covered with a very thick towel (I wanted the fountain to be elevated for my cats' ease in drinking).
