I use this storage container for charcoal and it contains just about two 20lb bags of Kingsford. The handle is very robust and can easily carry the full load of charcoal from my storage to the porch without worry. The lid snaps in place reasonably so and keeps the charcoal dry during a rainstorm if I forget to put it away.
One niggle, I'd recommend not pouring charcoal from the spout as it is *just* big enough for a piece or two to slide through. I opened the spout, tilted it up and shook to get the charcoal to come out. Instead of a few pieces at a time through the spout, the lid popped off and I had a grill full of charcoal. If being used for dog food, bird seed or the like, I believe the spout would be spot on.
