Mother came to stay from out of country and purchased this as a gift for us before leaving. Our 9 month old baby was constantly in our on the floor dog dishes, either splashing up to his elbows or stuffing dog food in his mouth before trying to make a quick escape. Plus our mastiff's big lips would hold pieces of dog food when eating that would drop off onto the floor, and he made huge messes when drinking. Well, all that is over now. This does everything that is listed in the description and more. The lip around the edge prevents water from going onto the floor and will collect in the excellent designed extra space under the dishes till you're ready to remove. The edge around the unit is large enough that the majority of the falling dog food stays on the platform. Also the legs are hollow and capped so that you're able to fill them with sand to weight the unit. This product is large, our mastiff still bends to drink/eat but suitable for large lab / retriever. Initially,we never would have purchased this for ourselves, but now having experienced the benefits we would not now live without it. The difference it has made in our day to day living is amazing and if it needed to be replaced I would gladly pay double the $70 and be satisfied.
