I've found that ceramic bowls work best for guinea pigs because they tend to like to stand on the rim while they eat and if the guinea pig is heavy, this causes the plastic bowls to tip over easily. This one has a nice soft rim that will be comfortable on little cavy feet! Also, guinea pigs eat a lot of pellets during the day and this is a good sized bowl.
