Previous purchases of these filters usually meant that they were filled with big chunks of carbon and that apparently doesn't work real well in the real world as some reviewers have explained. I expected the same but these filters are now constructed differently and have more of a see through carbon screen of some sort inside. The filter is also seamed in the middle so it can be folded and used in a different model dish that doesn't use the rectangle style.
